Why is OverDrive not working? ›

Make sure you're using the latest version of the OverDrive app by going to the App Store and checking for updates. Close the OverDrive app completely by swiping it up from your app switcher. Restart your device. Contact support for more help, and let them know you tried all the steps in this article.

There are a few reasons you might not see your library in Libby: Your search terms were too specific when searching for a library. Try shortening or changing your search terms. Your library doesn't have a digital collection with OverDrive (the developers of Libby).

If you still can't find your library's OverDrive collection, contact your library and ask them how to access the collection.

OverDrive builds apps and websites for libraries or schools to provide ebooks, audiobooks, and more. OverDrive staff members work with each library and school to customize their digital collection for their specific community. Library patrons and students can access OverDrive's apps (like Libby and Sora) for free!

Service issues may vary from user to user depending on the impact. No incidents reported today.

Discontinuing the OverDrive app allows our development teams to focus their efforts on Libby. We also want to make it as easy a possible to promote your digital library to your users. Having one app simplifies how you train your users, answer questions, and stay up to date with changes.

For patrons who use the legacy OverDrive app on their desktop computer to download eAudiobooks and transfer them to MP3 players; this software will remain for those who have already downloaded it and are using it.

It was discontinued at the end of April 2023. OverDrive's 2nd generation and only app to use is called Libby. Can I still use the OverDrive website? Yes, you can continue to browse, borrow, and enjoy titles from the library's OverDrive website.

Which app should I use? If you use one iOS or Android device to browse, download, and read or listen to digital books, we recommend trying Libby. It's a great one-device experience. If you like to read books on many devices, or prefer to browse for new titles on your computer, stick with the OverDrive app for now.

Is there a better library app than Libby? ›

For some users, Hoopla can feel like a step-up from Libby. This is because users can borrow more varieties of materials, and they can even stream television shows and movies from different devices like a smart TV.

As a driver when there is no need to accelerate, the overdrive function should be turned off. Also, when driving up a hill or downhill, the overdrive function may lose its effectiveness. When shifting to a lower gear, turn the overdrive feature off.

If you disconnect the connector to the solenoid and are still not getting overdrive this means the three, four shift valve is sticking or the governor is not allowing enough hydraulic pressure to force three for shift valve to move to allow the overdrive shift.

A restricted dribbler can cause a delay when applying the Overdrive clutches, causing them to drag, which can lead to failure. A leaking dribbler will allow too much pressure in the circuit keeping the Overdrive clutches slightly applied, allowing them to drag and prematurely fail.
