Within DSA , the Campus Living team is seeking an individual interested in housing operations and
communications, with experience in management and administration of a complex and
fast-paced office environment. Daily responsibilities and tasks support and enhance the GW undergraduate student residential experience.
ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Assistant Director for Campus Living, the Housing Associate will work closely with staff across the university, and is responsible for the following:
Serve as a member of CLRE occupancy team, assisting with planning, and execution of major and minor housing occupancy, application, and assignment periods, including summer housing season and revenue operations.
Develop and manage mass communication efforts regarding residential processes.
Share in the supervision and review of student employees. Assign tasks and evaluates work product and completion.
Monitor customer service quality of all types of interactions student staff have with GW and external customers.
Provide response and support to families, students, and guests with elevated concerns about their residential experiences. Resolve issues at point of need, appropriately communicate and share to others including those who support in resolution and those impacted.
Assist in creating innovative methods of reaching customer service goals.
Perform special research, compiles and analyzes significant data and suggest alternative policies, procedures, or work assignment to improve operations or to comply with changing legal or funding requirements.
Serve on occasional nights and weekends during major annual housing application and assignment periods or campus-wide emergencies.
The position is based at GW’s Foggy Bottom Campus in Washington, DC. The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum QualificationsQualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/ GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access preferred.
Ability to effectively communication subject matter, and knowledge of effective communication strategies for a college aged population.
Collaborative planning and marketing skills.
